FIREWOOD

*********Sorry, we no longer have any firewood for sale until August 2017******************

Firewood is a by-product of our managing woodlands to promote biodiversity and wildlife habitat. As of January 2015 we will be entering into the stores of spring 2014 fellings which is predominantly sycamore, ash and elm (all being hardwood).  Sycamore is a great burning hardwood, comparable to ash, and will provide a non-spitting (important for open fires) and more immediate heat. Elm is a denser wood and hence will burn longer but it is advised to season longer than ash and sycamore. The wood is sold as a loose mixture of small rounds and split wood in loose bucket-load measures. One bucket/load equates to approximately a cubic metre or two dumpy bags.

1 load sawn / split hardwood at £75 inc. VAT at the farm gate - visits by appointment only.

1 load sawn / split hardwood at £110 inc. VAT delivered, within 10 miles*

Delivery will entail tipping the load as close as possible to the final storage area with use of a trailer. For orders, appointments or more info, please contact Henry Straker-Smith on 07860 115 072. Please note that the logs are sold as loose bulk (not bagged).

Support our local efforts and buy quality local wood, a source of sustainable fuel.

* Progressive discounts will be offered to those ordering more than one load of delivered wood: £85 for the second load, £80 for all subsequent loads with a maximum of 6 loads in a single order. Cost of delivery further afield is determined by the exact mileage but essentially is an extra £2 per mile beyond the free 10 mile service.
